Kaneez Surka

Kaneez Surka is a highly accomplished comedian who has been active in the Mumbai improv scene since 2009. She gained initial recognition for her work with Divya Palat’s Imps troupe and later co-directed the Mumbai-based story-telling club “Tall Tales” in 2013. Surka rose to mainstream popularity through her appearances on the satirical news show The Week That Wasn’t on CNN-News18 (formerly CNN-IBN) and has also worked with Weirdass Comedy, a venture by Vir Das.

Surka has made numerous appearances in All India Bakchod videos and has played memorable characters such as Clitika in “A woman’s besties,” “Honest wedding,” and “Honest Bars,” as well as the Instagram character in “If Apps were people.” In addition to her acting work, Surka is also a judge for shows such as Comicstaan and Improv All Stars on Amazon Prime and Queens of Comedy on TLC. She is a member of the improv group “The Improvisers,” which includes Abish Mathew, Kanan Gill, and Kenny Sebastian, and has an improv special titled “Something From Nothing” on Amazon Prime Video.

Surka is also skilled at teaching improv comedy and has proven her comedic abilities as a judge on the stand-up comedy reality show Comicstaan on Amazon Prime.
