Random Chikibum

Random Chikibum was composed of Rahul Subramanian, Kumar Varun, Sunny Basu, and Abhinay, who came together due to their shared love of humor. The group consisted of MBA graduates and engineers who were inspired by the American comedy show Saturday Night Live, films, and their corporate experiences. The name “Random Chikibum” was inspired by a song from the film Hum. When the Comedy Hunt competition was held, the group applied and, after undergoing weekly challenges for three months, emerged as the winner out of over 1,500 entries.

Comedy veterans AIB, Kanan-Biswa, and East India Comedy, among others, recognized Random Chikibum as the first-ever winner of the OML Comedy Hunt 2015, an online contest that received over 1,500 entries. The finale took place at the National Center for Performing Arts in Mumbai and marked the end of a three-month search for new comedy talent in the country.

Currently, Random Chikibum is still active as a Youtube channel but services as a space for KV & Rahul to upload their individual pursuits like standup or quizzing. They also livestreamed together during the Covid-19 Pandemic. On Instagram, they continue to post short sketches.
